HiRes Weathered P47D-5"Razorback" Thunderbolt "353rd.FG,350th.FS." for Emil's ETO 9th.USAAF.& 2nd.TAF Campaign

This Weathered P47D-5 "Razorback" (circa: Nov.1943) skin (LH-F) is based on an aircraft of
the 350th.Fighter Squadron, 353rd.Fighter Group of the 8th.USAAF stationed at Metfield,
England engaged in the Allies Battle for Europe.

This P47D-5 aircraft "Janie" was the mount of Lt.William Price during his first tour in the ETO.
Lt.Price named all his aircraft that he flow on operation after his sister who lived in Pittsburgh.
This particular skin's circa is after November 5th.1943 when Lt.Price had won his first victory
against an Me-210 during a B-17 escort mission. During WW2 William Priced served 2 tours in the ETO.
His first tour with the 353rd was from August'43 to May'44 and then again from June'44 to Dec'44.
At which time he rotated back to the states. William Price was credited with 7 comfirmed victories
and rose to the final rank of Major. His exploits with the 353rd. were documented in his book
"Close Calls" by Bill Price published 1992 by Aviation USK Publishing.

The aircraft's colour scheme and Squadron markings where derived from a coloured aircraft
profile plate found on the front and back covers of Bill Price' war time autobiography "Close Calls".
The colours are as accurate as possible with the use of standard EAW Palette.
Further detail reference material came from Kagero's Polish & English publication
"Republic P-47 Thunderbolt" Vol.2 by Tomasz Szlagor & Krzysztof Janowicz.
